While the PA ECC-DHH is a robust resource that is designed to ensure that deaf and hard of hearing students have access to the supplemental learning and develop the functional skills that may be needed to support their educational success and the delivery of their free and appropriate public education (FAPE), it is not currently a state-mandated resource. Please check with your supervisor and program for guidance, as they may set district/program-level expectations for its use.
Program-specific training is available for the PA ECC-DHH through the PaTTAN Customized Support Request System. If you would like to receive training, please have your supervisor reach out to your regional PaTTAN DHH Consultant to start the request process:
East - Tara Kelly
Central - Sue Ann Houser
West - Dr. Elizabeth Young
The PA ECC-DHH is designed to be a "living" resource, with embedded hyperlinks that can be updated/added over time to reflect changes in best practice and our field. However, ERCHL and the PaTTAN DHH team (who maintain the PA ECC-DHH website) have received your requests for a printable, "checklist-type" version of the PA ECC-DHH; this companion resource is being developed.
The PA ECC-DHH was inspired by the work done previously in other states - in particular, the Iowa Expanded Core Curriculum for Students Who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. It was developed to reflect the needs of Pennsylvania students; however, anyone who wishes to utilize it with their students is welcome to do so.
If your state is interested in utilizing the PA ECC-DHH as you develop your own resource, please feel free to reach out to us with any questions/needs by utilizing our Contact Us form.
If you would like to suggest a resource for inclusion in the PA ECC-DHH, please utilize the Contact Us form to share the information and link (if available).
If you find a broken or missing link on the PA ECC-DHH site, please use the Contact Us form and follow the instructions on that page to identify the link that is broken/missing so that our team can investigate.
